I am replying to a voicemail job that wants this "format must be PCM, 8kHz or 11kHz, 16 bit, mono" I figured out the settings in Audacity for Mono but when I record in 11k or 8 I sound like a monster..Reallly slowwww.
How do I get to these settings? Thanks so very much!!! |

I will briefly try to explain.
PCM is a type of .wav format. It is used mainly (today) for telephones and such.
To get the best quality out of/for a PCM start by recording in 44,100 kHz or even 22050 kHz, mono, then down convert to the PCM.
I do not know if Audacity has the ability to convert, but I know that Adobe Audition does.
Good luck.
