Anyone know what the deal is with Enhanced Audio....the M600 mic mount company? I ordered a second M600 from Mercenary and it seems it going to end up taking more than 4 weeks or more....I have been waiting that long already and no ETA. They say EA is waiting on more parts to make more? But it seems nobody sells them here other than Mercenary. What gives?

I also sent an email to them about losing one of the feet (the thing that touches the mic), on my 1st M600 and....radio silence.

Anyone have a used M600 that they want to sell me?

It doesn't work quite as well, and you need to be more creative with your rigging, but I think a $25 mafer clamp works just about as well and any mic will fit in it. You will get a tighter low end sound as one does with a M600 over a spider mount.

Weird. I've been trying to call David at Enhanced Audio for two weeks or so and I only get an answer machine. Left messages but no reply. I'm wondering if he's ok....

I remember you making that same recommendation a few years ago, Lance. Are you using a Mafer clamp? I'd love to see a pic!

Here's the pix over at G+

When I used to have a TLM 103, testing showed the same noise floor between the Neumann spider mount and the mafer clamp...but the mafer had a tighter, nicer low low-mid sound to it...much like one sees with the M600 (but not as much as the M600). It's definitely a good way to go with say a 416...the only problem is that you have to be more creative with your stand boom arm to get the right positions for your microphone.

I had to take these pictures out of my studio which isn't bright enough to show the detail of the black mafer clamp.

Re: the point of this thread— that clamp looks quite spiffy. I'd be interested in trying one out, myself!

Dang— now I'm worried about David, too. I hope everything is all right. It's horrid to not know, it makes you feel so helpless.

Yeah, I hope David is okay.

I may have to cancel my order for the M600 and get a mafer clamp for my 416 and use the M600 for the Neumann. I want to get both mics in the booth sooner than later.

Did you modify yours, Lance, to get it to screw onto a mic stand/boom or do most of them have that capability?

I apologize for jacking this thread. I'll just add that the mafers go on pretty much any stand. I also hope that David is okay, and he was super when I made inquiries to him about his excellent product.

Those clamps seem to be great for holding various sized mics, but no help with keeping out vibrations, are they?

It's very odd, I've kept in touch with him for a few years and he's in my Skype buddy list. I haven't seen him on there in a few weeks now. I let him know about this conversation thread, but haven't heard back, either.
I am concerned, too...
I know he's been struggling making this business successful, despite the amazing products he's producing. Hand made in Ireland is expensive, but the quality is very high.

This just in:

Hi George,

Thanks so much for your email.

We've just had a delay in receiving some parts.

The M600s are now on the way to Mercenary Audio...
...

Best regards,

David

I agree. Glad he is okay. And thanks, George, for contacting David.

Now if he will only respond to my request for a one of the snap on pieces that touch the mic. I lost one somehow and I need a replacement piece so I do not put dents in my mics when tightening down.

I guess those things pop off if you loosen the screw too much. I have checked my entire booth. Nothing.

David got back to me. He is sending two of the pad pieces for no charge (his idea). Great guy! And he makes one heck of a product. My second M600 on the way too.
