anybody know what format theaters run the rolling stock in? trailers, commercials before the feature presentation, etc.

silly question for a VO board, i know. but i also the smartest people on earth live here.

Hi Todd, Each theater has different equipment if that's what you are referring to. The producers of the pre feature program content create several formats to distribute to theaters. (ie differrent aspect 35mm or 70mm film, Digital, etc) The theater requests what is specific to their own screens and projection systems. Could be film, could be hard drive.

No problem, I've done that legwork before when distributing independent movies. It's so much easier now with digital formats and only shipping a hard drive instead of bulky 35 and 70 reels.

i'm only shipping a :15 sec. ad, so hopefully it won't take a whole hard drive!

If you are shipping to an ad company that puts together the preshow reels they will handle the editing and produce the reel for distribution.
