Ohai!
After a couple of years worth of studying and soul-searching (hey, I had to find out who I was) there is finally something to show for it. Have a gander at my website if you want and drop a line about the design and demo. I know it doesn't resize properly on an Android phone, but the download link works.

Cheers for the help! |

The only thing I'd suggest is removing the "Commercial Voiceover" title under your name ('cause anyone going there probably knows what you do) and take the line: "Young, contemporary, hip, with a gentle streak" and put that under your name, making it a fairly big headline. That's your branding. Make sure the casual viewer gets it right away.
OK, one more thing. I'd shorten the biography a lot. Maybe something like:
Quote: | Yonie, raised on the rugged coast of northern Sweden, now lives in Los Angeles pursuing his dual professions of voice acting and music.
Nancy Wolfson of L.A.'s Braintracks Audio describes Yonie as "young, hip, contemporary, but with a streak of maturity and gentleness," and he's a good fit for commercials, narration, animation, young adult audiobooks, and video games. |
Period. Nothing else needed. Put it in bigger type, but taking up less space so you can get everything on one computer screen so no one has to scroll down to see your contact info.
OK, one more thing, if you're going to have a link to your email, why have a form for email? I'd drop the form and make your phone number and email link much bigger, bolder, and more professional looking. Don't make them hunt for a way to reach you.
OK, one more thing. How's your Swedish? If you're a native speaker, when you can get around to it, I'd also post a Svenska demo. It may not be a huge addition to your voice work, but you never know!
Done now.
OK, one more thing. The demo is a very fine first demo. Onward and upward.

Cheers for the input, guys.
Bruce, I consider Swedish my first language, but I am bilingual in the sense that both languages are naturally developed from childhood. This is not just through formal school coursework, but from constant exposure.
The issue I'm faced with is that the VO business in Sweden seems very limited in terms of online exposure and as such I am quite dumbfounded when it comes to finding good copy.
Am working on changing minor stuff on the site now. |

Yonie, I think the demo is great. Good for you!
My feeling about the bio is in line with Bruce's comments. I think less is more and your demo largely speaks for itself.
On the one hand, I really like the simplicity of the site. It has all the important stuff right up front. On the other hand, it feels a little spartan to me. (Maybe that's your Swedish side showing through? ) I was left without a clear, visual mental imprint of your brand. The words are there and they jive with what I hear on your demo, but I don't necessarily feel that I see that brand when I look at the page. It leaves a rather generic impression for me.
About the dearth of good Swedish copy, I don't know if you've run across Jacob Ekstroem around here yet but he's living in Sweden doing VO and may have some insight to share.
Cheers!
