Hey Gals and Pals
We have been meandering up the coast of California on the way to Oregon. We made a stop at San Simeon to visit the Hearst Castle.
All I can say is WOW.

I love taking your own sweet time to get somewhere, just taking the opportunity to stop and see whatever interests you along the way. Enjoy!!! _________________ jen@jengosnell.com

Being from Southern California, my last trip up and back went up through Sequoia, Yosemite, Mt. Shasta, Eugene, OR, the Willamette Valley, Portland, Seattle, the Olympic Peninsula, back down the Oregon coast through to Eureka, CA, Avenue of the Giants, then Mendocino, Napa Valley and wine country, Monterey, Big Sur, San Simeon (Hearst Castle), Morrow Bay, Solvang, Santa Barbara and home to Long Beach. Took three weeks to do it.
We ended up liking Oregon so much, we came back to live. And are very happy we made that decision. |

My family took a trip north when I was eight and this place was the only stop I remember vividly because it was really cool and made me not care about when we were leaving. _________________ Greg Littlefield

In 2008 the DH and I went to a meeting in Chicago (driving). After the conference, we were lucky enough to meet Lou Zucaro (of our lovely board fame) and he graciously allowed us to borrow some of his storage space for our exhibits, etc. We then took off across country, basically sticking to I90, and had wonderful stays in Iowa, SoDak, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and back. Along the way we dawdled around to see the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower, Yellowstone, Glacier, Mt. St. Helens, tootled around the Seattle area with DH's sister, and then headed back. It was a wonderful 30 days and 7,777 miles. Along the way we actually kept up with business and clients, and had a wonderful time. It's worth it, and I'd love to do it again sometime. |
