It's been a while since I revamped my commercial demo and have these 2 for choice. Thoughts and ideas? ...let em rip Wink

First demo: I'd kill the first clip. In fact I'd start at the Cartier spot and roll on from there. Put the car dealer "gut" piece somewhere else in the mix, and if you really want to keep the VistaPrint piece, enhance it just a bit volume/compression wise. You do the national sounding stuff really well so I'd concentrate on that.

Second demo: I believe that's the same first clip as the first demo? It sounded a bit better there. The two person spot isn't the most enticing one I've ever heard, but if that's all ya got then it's fine. The others are good too. Again I'd lean on the richer sounding stuff.

I'm a fan of slightly longer cuts where possible, especially when it's a particularly good/marketable piece, and sometimes I wanted just a little more of those pieces.

Sometimes demo production is a bit like gathering a room full of your children and figuring out which ones you have to kick out of the house, and which ones to keep. Not easy, eh?

Hey Bruce, Thanks for chiming in. I get your idea about the national sounding stuff. I've done a slight variation from my demo I created with Nancy Wolfson by adding some newer material in. The new stuff adds a little wider variety of me. The 2nd with the gal and I on the phone seemed to lead into a bit of character leaving Win and segue into Sounds complicated. Originally the demo started off with the car dealer "Gut" and went on to some other stuff.

Thought I'd bounce some ideas around here.

Here's the original
