VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

This morning I set out to phone load some telephony prompts. In the "old" days this was very common but with technology the way it is, well, I only do it once or twice a month now. Our studio is set up so that all I have to do is change the output setting in the computer and I'm good to go. And I'm so familiar with all of these different phone systems that I don't have to listen to the recording that prompts me to press this or that. Easy, standard stuff.

I dial into the company and press all the right numbers and symbols and hit the space bar. Nothing. My computer was running fine, the audio was playing, but it wasn't getting into the phone.

I then spend 20 minutes following the audio chain, and, I admit, cursing slightly because this was supposed to be the easy part of my morning. At this point I'm ready to bang my head against the wall.

I do some deep breathing and calm myself down, hang up the phone so I can back away for a minute and then, BAM, the brain fart bubble bursts.

The handset goes into the phone patch device. Yes, I'd checked several times to make sure it was properly connected. All while doing this on speaker so I wouldn't have to hold the handset.

I spent the next 5 minutes holding the handset, loading the audio, and laughing A LOT.
