As it often does, I open youtube and listen to this piece. Heard on a classical radio station while stuck in traffic. If you can road rage while listening to this, I deem you beyond help!

Not bad for a 460 year old piece of music.

Lovely, Yonie. Just delightful.

May I add another in the same vein that achieves the same calming effect for me?

In 1998 I was doing freelance desktop publishing for a company located on the NJ side of the Lincoln Tunnel, not even two minutes from Manhattan. This is right where Route 3 (as 495) ties with the NJ Turnpike (I-95), a stone's throw east of the Meadowlands Sports Complex (Giants Stadium, Izod Center & Meadowlands Racetrack).

This is a high-traffic area even during the middle of the day. But when the office closed at 5pm, we would all get into our cars and squeeze into the bumper-to-bumper congestion that had been building since 3:30. If there was an accident, a lane closure due to construction, or some other type of hindrance, this area essentially became a parking lot very quickly.

I listened to rock music during that period, but for at least the first half of my 45-minute trek home every day, the radio would be tuned to classical music WQXR, where Lloyd Moss would administer the best medicine for gridlock and road rage.

Ahhhhhhhhh... massage for the mind.

Oh, I know that area well, Mike. I used to live in Carlstadt. QXR and Lloyd Moss -- ah yes, that got me through some hard commutes way back when.

I feel that the thread is not too old for a bump, and my reason is the same as what prompted me to start it in the first place.

I am a big fan of contemporary piano songs, the music just lets you fly away for a short while. Here are two of my absolute favorites:

Rob Costlow - Meant To Be
http://youtu.be/6y2pNTfmaBk

Yiruma - River Flows In You (A tear jerker that opens the floodgates for me)
http://youtu.be/ZOqUFqF_ZwM

Hope it brings some peace if your day is tense.
