Philip,
This will be quite a year for visiting with you in person. May at VOX, September at Faffcon and December at the NYC mixer. What a good year! _________________ Be well,

Here's to hoping the scholarship goes through, that way I get to meet both Bob, Phil and lots of other people at Faffcon.
Did you manage to get affordable tickets? |

It'll be fabby!
Those nice Air France boys will collect me in Aberdeen, take me to Paris for breakfast and after a short nap will travel to Ewok airport, Noo Yawk, le grande pomme de terre.

Was just in NYC, will be again in December, but my memories of the mixer I did attend two years ago are less than warm. However, not the fault of the organizer, who did a fine job.
Sorry to miss all of you at Faffcon -- if it weren't for the fact that I'll be headed to Southampton, UK right about that time, I'd be at Faffcon. Perhaps next time. |

Last year the mixer was better because we weren't fighting the music. To be honest the pre and post mixer activities were much nicer although that is not to take anything from the actual event.
Everyone was mightily amused how, throughout the entire weekend Caryn Clark made a point of keeping away from me.

Yes, the music was an issue the first year I went. I have tinnitus in both ears, and loud venues don't mix with trying to meet folks whilst having a ringing in the ears. Oddly enough, it never bothers me in the studio...
Anyway, perhaps I can attend next year's. This year's is just up against too many other things I'm committed to, and oddly enough, they're in NYC, too. Perhaps I could get to a pre-event mixer if allowed. |

I once suggested to Erik that he try to get Auralex or one of their competitors to be a sponsor and set up panels of their product in an area that could be used for conversation. Assuming the product works as it is supposed to, it could be a pretty effective demonstration aimed directly at a room full of potential customers.
I'm not sure he believed I was serious. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

If it'll help, I can set up a small stand in the corner to sell bollocks mufflers:
