Merci.
My mom was a Captain in the French Army who ended up working for the Americans as a translator of documents at the Nuremberg trials.

My old man got his Purple Heart in 'Nam when a bicycle bomber set off a charge in the hotel bar downstairs, whilst "Pops" was in the shower upstairs. He ran into the hall with his 45 at the ready.... wearing only what God gave him. A passing medic stopped him to tend to the wound delivered by the soap dish he encountered on the way down, pointing out that he was "out of uniform".....

One of his favorite stories, and one I've heard more times than I can count. He's a tough old dog to this day, a former Ranger and demolitions expert, and a true leader of men. I'm proud of him, and I need to go call him now, and tell him so.....

Daddy served in Korea, was wounded in action, recuperated and returned to fight another day. He's still around and kicking, the Veterans Administration gave him a new knee last year! Here's to all the vets!

My Dad served stateside during the Korean War. He was a D.I.

Growing up, I didn't give him any lip. Already sent him a note today.

When my mother sold her house and downsized a couple of years ago I thought I had made it a point to grab a picture of my dad in uniform during World War II, but I'll be damned if I can find it. So, while I tear my house apart looking for it, I'll post a picture of my Uncle, who fought at the Battle of the Bulge.

My Dad (3rd from left) attending a war maneuvers meeting.

Mom and I visit my uncle at Camp Lejeune. He was an Iwo Jima vet.

Off the coast of Viet Nam 1968. Yes I was a "swab".

My son, Brian (on left), in Bosnia.

I salute all vets past and present, and am proud to have served with them.
