So what do you use to keep track of your auditions/jobs/expenses/client list, etc...?

I currently have WAY too many documents to keep updated -- one for auditions and bookings, one to track invoices, one to see ongoing earnings/expenses, one to list client specs... is there a software that will do it all? Should I dream on...?

I've looked at the Protalent Performer software (http://www.protalentsoftware.com/), and it looks intriguing... but it also looks like overkill. Though I still do live theater from time to time, it's not enough to want to keep track of those auditions/gigs. And I very rarely do on-camera anymore, either... I want something just for voice.

Anyone use this that can give an opinion? Or do you use something else? I don't really need an invoice generator -- I have that. I just need one place to keep all my info. Is that too much to ask...? Wink

I haven't used it personally, but you might want to check out PerformerTrack. Here's a video overview of it:

I use 2 pieces of software:

- to track invoices, to see ongoing earnings/expenses: QuickBooks Pro
- to list client specs" ACT!

As I wrote in a recent blog post:

organize expenses & invoice your clients” and I couldn’t agree more. Plus, their reports make tax time a breeze.

LOVE 'em.

When you're ready to upgrade... try Post-it Sticky Notes, before you get too far behind the curve.

I'll give an enthusiastic thumbs up for PerformerTrack. It's been very helpful since I started my subscription circa May. Now that I've recently finished entering all my data for the the financial year(s) for the two (sob) tax systems that I am currently tied to, I can really see its potential in keeping everything neat and tidy.

I am however, going to nicely harass the PerformerTrack folks to see if they can add a feature that allows us to clearly see which invoices are outstanding. At the moment "Payment Due" just shows up on your 'calendar', and if you don't follow it up that day, then it kinda becomes troublesome to track.

I am in Philip's league when it comes to keeping track of "stuff to do", although sometimes things don't get out of the "someone emailed me the script"...

For bookkeeping however, we have the computer and a nice program to keep track of the money coming in, the money coming out, and the money expected in.

+1 for Performer Track, though I admit I've only just starting using any other feature besides the Audition tracker (recently discovered it's contact management feature). I haven't gotten into the invoicing feature yet either since I was using a combo of QuickBooks and file folders on my desktop with Word Doc invoices in it Gasp (gonna check into PT for that today...thanks Matt!).

Man, I am so far behind the times. I've been using Random Scraps of Paper 1.3 (beta). Time to upgrade.
