That's why we keep doing what we do...that little high when the call comes in...and again when we send off the finished product. Congrats! _________________ Mary |

Tom... the thing that I am constantly reminded of while spending time on the board is that every single person here, whether full time v/o or part-time and aspiring... every single person remembers what it is like to be at the beginning of their career, and while you may not think that it should be a big deal to others, it actually is, because the feeling of landing that first big gig and having a satisfied client still rings true and is very hard to forget!
Everyone has milestones, some just have a few more of them under their belts.
Congratulations! However do yourself one thing... make a mental note of this moment in time, so that when you're having a rough day or week, you can remember how frickin' great you feel right now, because innevitably there will be many more of these days!
Good on ya man!

Yep...good on ya, dood. Nothing like a call out of the blue that lands a decent gig. They're my favorite kind. _________________ www.voiceoverdrew.com

That is really worth celbrating. We'll all join in. Maybe some day something like that will fall out of the sky for me too. In the mean time, I am going to take market HO classes from the posts on the board and pick everyones' collective brains.

Deirdre....This is for you.....you asked me to post the file. Here it is.....this is the file I delivered to him. The thing is, I mentioned it's a two person tv spot. Me....the opening voice over to set the mood and then after I'm done, an on-camera guy comes on and does the second half of the commercial. My part was supposed to be 15 seconds and the the on-camera guy is the last 15 seconds.....but my file is 17 and a quarter seconds and I told him I couldn't deliver the 15 seconds and still feel like I was giving him something of quality that would set the mood like it was intended, so I got it to 17 seconds. He told me that in this case, it was totally ok, because he loves it the way it is and he will shorten the on-camera guys part to accomodate my extra length. cool huh? Here is the file.
****Edit**** I will post the produced version after he sends it to me, this is just the dry voice file I delivered to him. _________________ TG2

Man, I don't know what's going on, but since I upgraded my equipment and since this NBC gig came in out of the blue.... now, on V123, I'm either winning most every audition I submit, or am being notified that I am one of the top voices being considered, and my demo has been sent to the client. All of a sudden I'm batting about 80 percent success on my V123 auditions.......from 0 percent.
Too cool! I'm diggin' this! _________________ TG2
