Right, this one is for the techies. I have searched and searched, but come up with no answer.
Right now I'm recording at decent levels (peaks of -6dB) and everything sounds fine while doing it in Pro Tools. I even tried going just below peak threshold to test this problem out.
When I export the files (either through a traditional bounce, or a bus-based bounce) and play the file in iTunes; the volume is low. By low, I mean barely audible. This is even though the peak volume is close to blowing out my speakers while working in my DAW.
Any ideas?
Have had this problem for a while now. No idea how to fix it. |

A little more info needed Yonie.
What kind of file are you rendering when you bounce? 192k/44.1 mp3 would be common for auditions and the like.
If you're using a master fader, do you have any sort of dynamics processing on it? _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Chuck, I might have solved the issue now. Ironic, that the solution would appear shortly after I created this thread.
Currently am not using a master fader for my mono track. As for processing: I usually have a gate, some gain, and occasionally light EQ. Bouncing quality is variable, but I always go for highest possible.
I think the problem lies in my interface. Going to look into this even deeper and ask around.
*Edit* How can I forget? Thank you for the response, Chuck. |
