is there an easy way to find and download games onto an old device?
at first glance, it appears games, etc are easy to access and use for newer devices ... and downright maddening to figure out for older ones.
hoping someone here has an old iTouch and can lead me to the manna.
many thanks. _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

Hey Diane... I'm a fan-boy and have a large collection of Apple devices... including a first-gen iPod Touch which now only serves duty as my studio clock! Just to check it out, I loaded a few free games onto it and all seems to be working fine... including Temple Run (which is my latest addiction).
I just connected it up to iTunes and synced up some of my existing games. If they won't work, it doesn't load them onto the device... Angry Birds just won't install itself. The iTunes store has a whole bunch of free games... just go into the a s section and look at the free a s... loads of games listed, a lot of which will run on the 1st gen Touch.
The newest iOS that works on the 1st gen Touch is iOS 3... if you look at a game's page it tells you the minimum software requirement... anything for iOS 4 or 5 won't work, but a lot of new games (Chicken Revolution!) are written for iOS 3 and above.
Cheers
