This week started with narrations about Mongolian Coal Mining.....

By mid week I had moved on to national TV campaigns for Osteo Bi Flex....

To finish things out I was the voice of Pierre Bergé for a tribute to Yves Saint Laurent.

From Coal Miner...to Joint supplements...to Gay Frenchman.

Vive le Variety!

(Liz will correct)

Chuck... this seems like a good thread for all of us to share our 'wild kingdom' of work this week.

While not quite as exotic as yours, mine included:
- parts of the 18 hour audiobook of the history of the Southern Company (a public utility)
- underwriter sponsors for public radio and television
- e-learning dealing with how to use PR and Media
- spots to air on Atlanta TV for some sort of traffic referendum
- a spoof of "The World's Most Interesting Man" for AT&T
- and extensive messages-on-hold for some new legal company that offers an alternative to hiring pricey lawyers

And sorry, I don't speak French. Solo poquito Espanol, y no muy bien.

Scott,

Excellent suggestion. I'll play.

We started with a corporate medical narration,
Then revisions to a national radio campaign for a rally taking place in Philadelphia later this year.
Imaging liners and promos for stations in San Francisco and Tampa.
An eLearning project for the Department of Defense.
A short narration for a web video being produced for The Gideon's ministry.
Narration of a weekly radio news report I anchor for a coalition based in Jerusalem, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
Narration of 2 international radio programs for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
The voiceovers for the San Francisco Giants television campaign for the 2012 season.
Narration of 2 web videos describing the amenities at a pair of multimillion dollar homes in Palm Springs, CA.
Narration of an awards program for Alcoa.
Narration of a pair of corporate promotional pieces for a company that serves the agricultural industry (specifically almond growers and potato farmers).
Narration of a "Super Hero" for a corporate human resources video.

An interesting mix for all for sure. I had other stuff in the mix....but just liked the contrast between those three.

It does keep the job interesting!

Scott,

I went walking each morning with my wife and then had lunch with her each day as well. Spent a few minutes each day blogging. Talked on the phone with friends. Did a bit of reading. Took my youngest son to a doctor's appointment and then we did some grocery shopping afterward. Talked with my Dad on the phone. Talked with my Mom on Skype. Spent a couple of hours in the house we're buying later this month with the home inspection team. All in all it was a pretty good week.

And Chuck, I agree about the interesting contrasts and was quite sure there was lots of other stuff you were doing.

I wanna play!!!

Started the week off with a marketing narration for an American high school in Dubai
A phone auto attendant VO for a Mercedes dealership there too
A narration about how how various area rugs are made and priced for Flooring America,
A few spots for Michael's Jewelers in Connecticut
A peppering of new doctor's names and practices for an ongoing IVR gig
Liners for New Hampshire Public Televisions next fund drive (DVDs of Downton Abbey's first two seasons for a donation of $150!),
More rug narrations - how to select a rug to 'pull a room together'...all I could think of while voicing this one was the Big Labowski Sarcastic Had the good sense not to mention that to the client.
Tags for a college spot
And MOH stuff sprinkled throughout the week.
Plus shuttling my son to hither and yon and places in between as it is his school vacation week.

Vive la variété!! Laugh

This week was filled up with US & Canadian work:
Finished 6 English training modules for a roofing manufacturer & the first of 6 French ones for the same company, which will all play in Canada.
Then a slew of Message-on-holds/IVRs for 2 Alarm Companies, a health insurance company, national retailer, credit card company, and...well a bunch!

WANTED to go skiing, but the weather did NOT cooperate! Lips Are Sealed

Laugh

I'll be listening for those!
And you can listen for mine for Lux Bond & Green, (the official jeweler of the Boston Red Sox).

There's obviously some very busy VO people here I am delighted to see. I also can't compete with Bob but at the moment I am not a full time VO guy although that and writing is where I am headed. Let's see:

A web Piece for the largest Valet service in Florida.
2 local TV spots
several pieces for FOX locally (not my favorite network btw but I also don't feel like turning down the work)
Promo for Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado.

In addition I have done three live Shows as Entertainer/DJ and a Corporate DJ show at the Marco Island Marriott for First Tennessee Bank.

Actually a busy week. But I do want to be more like Bob, I love the variety I see some of you lads and lasses doing.....that really says talent to me, and I also want Jeffrey to try me out on a Audio Book:)

Um, thank you for the kind comments; but of course many weeks are not this busy. A few are more. More important, this is the accumulation of 29 years of steady professional voiceover work.

And maybe the most important point I can make: what you need to concentrate on is NOT being "like me." Be you, the very best you that you can possibly be. Find people who want to work with you and you will get busier and busier, too. Of all the work I did this past week, only 2 of those jobs were booked from auditions. The rest all came to me based on existing relationships.

Ah, almost hidden in there it sounds like Bob will have to be building a new studio (new house, right?) I'll be curious to hear about that project and progress if Bob cares to share it with us.
