It shows the state of the world when we voiceoverists can take the moral high ground.
My sister, a high class prostitute and IT consultant upon discovering what I did for a living gave me a caring hug then whispered in my ear.
"Just don't tell mum, it'd break her heart" |

Every time I've raised my rates, my business has increased.

Selling yourself cheaply says to everyone that you are cheap and that is a tough reputation to shake off.
Anyone with a smidge of common sense would see that Doug's comment can only be true. Needless to say the VO who is doing the raising of the rates needs to have the ability to back up their confidence. ...Tough call for most. |

i hadn't raised my editing rates in forever - yesterday i did & sent out a notice to regulars. i got email back from all of them - MOSTLY saying "thanks" - and one from a client that i will likely lose, at least for a while - and that's ok. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

That client you will most likely lose is probably the biggest pain in the ass among them. Just guessing. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

You know, it comes down to knowing your market and what it will bear. It always does. And, then, pricing your "stuff" to appeal to fill the needs of that market.
This person apparently knows a pretty low-ball market. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

If I am saying the sweet nothings, bet your bottom dollar I will reap the benifits.
Show me a man who can't say the sweet nothings and I will show you a man where the sweet talker will win out. _________________ Esse quam videri "To be rather than to seem"
