I just found out from a producer (judge for the New York Radio Awards) that something I did a while ago has been nominated for an international award.

The message of this piece is important to me but the images may prove upsetting for some people. If you're unsure, best steer clear.

So a baby seal walks into a bar. The bartender says, "What'll ya have?"

The seal say, "Anything but a Canadian Club."

Good on You for doing this spot.
Jack Foley would be proud or atleast I think so.
Bashing baby seals in not a practice that I support.

Philip, being the legal mind that you are, know that the following is not a criticism of you.

Is the sound the station used a fraud? If a person is to identify a sound should not the sound be an actual recording of the action the sound purports to represents.

Seeing that the sound made was actually a bat smashing a watermelon, had a person guessed that, would the station have been obligated to award the prize to that person?

I am very glad the money went to a good cause, but accuracy should be their obligation also.

Sorry folks, I just feel technical this morning, my creative muse is still asleep.

It would only be a fraud if there was a victim and a victim would be the person who was prevented from winning the prize because they guessed correctly that the sound was a water Melon and was told that it was somthing else.

Philip

I agree with you and you are right there must be a person who was damaged.

We don't know if someone did guess a watermelon. We don't know if the staff was told that the actual sound was a smashed watermelon.

If indeed they had a reference sound and compared that to the sound effect and the audio closely matched then more better.

But this is too technical. Have gone over your packing list and have every thing you need? There is nothing more annoying like leaving an essential at home.

I hope you saw the virtual toast left for you on another thread. Looking forward to you photo journal.

As soon as the Canadian flag was planted I had to exit - I just can't go there. I'm so very sad that the message remains necessary, but I'm rooting for you - and even more for the seals...

Nothing to say about Philips vo - except hope you win. Not just for you, but for humanity.

Plenty to say about the evil *&^%*&((&^^% who do this. But anything I say will get me put in the corner by Deebs.

So will leave it at:
Migulgl zol er vern in a henglayhter, by tog zol er hengen, un bay nakht zol er brenen.
He should be transformed into a chandelier, to hang by day and to burn by night.

Er zol hobn paroys makes bashotn mit oybes krets.
He should have Pharaoh’s plagues sprinkled with Job’s scabies.

Zolst hobn tsen haizer, yeder hoiz zol hobn tsen tsimern, in yeder tsimer zoln zain tsen betn un zolst zij kaiklen fun ein bet in der tsweiter mit cadojes!

I wish you to have ten houses, each house with ten rooms, each room with ten beds and you should roll from one bed to the other with cholera!

I could go on....
