I found a cool site if you're seeking help pronouncing foreign names:
http://names.voa.gov/index.cfm
All you do is select the country of origin in the bottom box and it will give you a list of currently used names of interest along with an audio pronunciation. The top box also leads to a few popular words of international interest.

A small group of us get together about once a month for debate club. Last time 'round, the topic was "should (will) the U.S. bomb Iran?" from which we had great fun pronouncing whozit's name (MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD). I too bookmarked the site, and thanks. Wonder if it'll help with all that slaughtering (uh...not the right word) ...that is, fingers-on-a-blackboard pronunciation of of "Iran" "Iraq" "Italian" _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. I did a news story last night at http://ap.taldia.com (Associated Press) :
Forty-four tattoo customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Vermont developed skin infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus,
I decided just to say MRSA _________________ Ralph Hass

Mary, I wished I had seen this before going to the studio today! I had the worst time with Phytophthora root rot. It seemed like it took forever to get it right. Now I will probably be rattling it off in my sleep....show me the blueprints, show me the blueprints, show me the blueprints, show me the blueprints.... |

I thought her degree was a PhthD. You just can't tell anyone because you'll end up spitting on them.
