1. I have heard that some are using foot pedals in their recording chain. How does that work exactly? (Pictures or diagrams would be real helpful).
2. Any dictation/transcription USB footpedals that can be put to positive use in our craft? (Perhaps controlling recording software, etc,) |

Since my mic is in my Whisper Room, and away from my computer and mixer,
I've got a Short StopŠ Momentary Muting Switch on the floor in the booth. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

I saw pedals that control a teleprompter script tool on an iPad via bluetooth at NAMM, that was pretty slick. Otherwise, a foot activated mute is very handy. Also, I've rigged up footswitch to A/B two mics on the same preamp in conjunction with 2 ch phantom power box. The Radial ABi is excellent. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Yes, George, I think I have heard you mention this.
Do you have any pictures or diagrams of this? |

So I assume that would be:
2 Mics > phantom power box > foot pedal switcher > preamp > interface > PC...
Any noise issues by putting two more boxes in the chain? |

You got it D-Voice, and no detectable added noise when using good cables and high quality switch like the Radial, which has zero active circuitry. I've got Jim Tasker rigged up with a Manley Reference Cardioid and Sennheiser 416 into the Grace M103 this way. Only need one P48 supply since the Manley has its own power, of course. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Oh, thanks a bunch Ed! That little piece of information is now going to cost me thirty some dollars (ebay is your friend). You have no idea how long I've lived without one of these... how ever did I manage it!

Not sure what to think. I am getting one but for a different application than audio.
I purchased PromotDog Prompting software, http://www.promptdog.com/ , and will use it to control the play speed.
Check it out you my want to spend a bit more. Two versions, I am using the Dog and not the \Puppy for on camera prompting. The puppy does not do reversal for mirror reflection.
I does the trick and at a very modest price. _________________ Esse quam videri "To be rather than to seem"

Bummer it's PC only...
But THIS one is Mac, too! You can plug in up to five foot pedals with this sucker. Very curious what useful functions you come up with. Perhaps something like "jump back 3 secs" for punch-in, or zoom presets? Or maybe just scrolling a script is the most useful? Hmm... _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
