Just saw on 10News.com our local ABC affiliate's website that Dick Beals passed away locally in Vista, CA.

He was the voice of Gumby, Speedy Alka-Seltzer, over 3000 commercials for such products as Oscar Meyer and Campbell's Soup.

I was reading his obituary that due to a medical condition, he never grew beyond 4feet-7inches, it also gave him a child-like voice which helped his career..he said "whenever the needed a child, they called me rather than deal with a crazy stage mother"

i LOVE gumby and pokey and always have. lio watches them l and they are SO funny ... the dialog alone!
