Venus is crossing in front of the Sun this afternoon into evening and won't do it again for another 105 years (big whoop for some and fascinating for others). If you'd like to watch it without melting your retinas NASA's picture of the day site is offering updated shots from a solar observation satellite throughout the transit time which will be 3:10 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. Pacific time.

T, it's just beginning to cross. In the website which you provided a link, it looks as though there is a very small bite being taken out of the 10:30 position. The track is beginning.
