So, Charles Gibson just gave his farewell speech on Good Morning America.
I'm gonna miss that guy in the morning!

You're LEAVING AT 7:20 AM?? I've already been at work 30 minutes by the time you get out the door I get up at 5:00 AM on work days and my shift starts at 7:00 AM (12 hour shift at a 911 call center). I still watch some morning TV when I get to work...at least when we're not busy handling calls. |

Oh yeah!!!! Well I have to leave at 4:58 in order to get to work on time each morning. That's 4:58 PM! In the snow, uphill both ways, walking 20 miles each direction in the dark with no shoes. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Eh, who am I kidding? These days I wake up around 6 or so when the sun peaks in the window. Then enjoy coffee on the back deck while playing with the dog, come in and catch up on the email and web stuff, shower and shave, send out a proposal or demo or run a few errands perhaps, and usually show up at the office between 10:51 and 10:58. My first HAVE TO task occurs at 11:01:30 every day. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

I get up at 6AM on weekdays. Along with my wife, I help get my daughter ready for daycare - all the while chatting and watching TV (one in bedroom, one in living room, and one in kitchen). I don't get to the studio until around 10AM or so. Start working on stuff (usually production stuff lined up first) around 10:30AM or 11AM - oh, TV there, too.

I'm up at 4:30 every morning so I can get my hour plus walk in every morning while it's cool (82 degrees vs. 110 in the afternoon). Thank God for my new iPod. Sure makes that walk a lot easier. Catching up on albums I haven't listened to for 20 years and more.
Then it's an hour or so on the web catching up on world, local and VO happenings, like here in this delightful joint.

GAK!
You made me flash back to my years doing morning drive. Up at 3:00am, at work by 5:00 and on the air 6:00 to 9:00 am. Totally against my nature but that was the drill for nearly 15 years. Were it not for my love of radio I would have NEVER worked such wicked hours since I'm a night-owl at heart.
Now... I wake up about 8:00 am, eventually make the commute to the studio (about 15 feet) around 10'ish. VO is brutal but it does have considerable benefits! Hang in there Tom... the day you can join us will happen as well. _________________ . If at first you don't succeed, then bomb disposal probably isn't for you. |
