So I was getting comments from folks on the other end of my phone line (Vonage) that they were hearing beeps every so often. I thought it may have been my desk phone since it has batteries and thought they may be low but that was not the issue

If anyone is experiencing this same problem here's the fix.

I contacted Vonage and told them about the problem and they sent my Vonage modem a firmware upgrade and instructions for rebooting the system. That took care of the issue.

No more beeps!
