I am in the process of changing my ISDN Long Distance from AT&T to either Sprint or MCI. Does anyone know ifthere a certain phone number to call to speak with these companies about ISDN long distance? If so can you give me the number. Or do they treat it as they would long distance from a home phone? I am curious to know what folks are currently paying for their ISDN long distance. AT&T rates here around 50 cents per minute, per line. Not a price anyone should pay. Thanks!

Glenn

Hi Glenn, I use Sprint for my Long Distance. There is no plan that says "this is an ISDN plan" ... you just get long distance for the two lines, selecting what you think is best.

The different plans available are a bit of a minefield, but I opted for the "Small Business Anytime" LD plan. Here's the complete breakdown of my monthly bill (for both lines) for a zero call month. Taxes etc are for NY.

$5.00 Small Business Anytime - monthly charge
$4.10 Presubscribed Line Charge
$0.45 State Sales Tax
$0.53 County Sales Tax
$0.44 Prop Tax Schg/Fed Reg Fee
$1.43 Carrier Universal Svs Chg
$0.28 State Gross Recpts Surchg

$12.23 Total charge

On this plan I'm paying about $0.25 (peak) and $0.15 (off-peak) per minute per line for calls. Considering I rarely make calls, this was the best plan for me, and also allows for reasonably priced calls for testing with colleagues or those occasions when you call the client (for whatever reason).

I made my initial contact through the regular Customer service line and asking for long distance information (give me Memphis Tennessee). Try 1-800-877-4020

Have fun...
Peter

Thanks for all of the info, Peter. I will give them a call and see what they can do for me. Much appreciated!
