First we need to define ...REVISIONS
I explained it thus in an email to a potential client.
...when people say "revisions" they actually mean "come back to the studio and work again for nothing because I've changed my mind", forgive me for being direct.
Now, business is business so we do not work for nothing, everything is costed in. Ask any Voiceoverist and they'll be able to tell you the cost factor for revisions, marketing, feeding the Collies and intergalactic travel.
Items 3 and 4 were typed because I knew most of you would not have got passed 1 and 2.
For me marketing is 15% of my gross turnover ..Easy peasy.
Revisions are factored in for larger job because there is so much money rattling around that I am able to at least give the illusion of giving my time away. As an example I will shortly be sending an invoice to a client for $9,500 with no charge for revisions ..Really? I did him a favour?
Revisions II (for the non massive or regualr clinets) are simply charged at my minimum session fee.
Obviously I am flexible ....Actually, no I'm not, that too is just an illusion. |
