VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

Had a fun ISDN session yesterday with a studio. The clients were on a conference call listening in. When we finished and the clients were off the line, the produced said to me, "You edit yourself a lot, dont you?" I wasn't sure what he meant...initially thinking that he meant that I mentally/verbally "edit" myself from commenting when clients suddenly want to change something or can't decide what they want. But he was talking about my snapping fingers. When I'm doing a VO on my own, if I make a mistake, I'll snap my fingers to give myself a quick visual cue later when I edit the file. Apparently I was snapping during the session. The clients didn't seem to notice...and we had a good laugh about my force of habit.

I was directed by phone patch yesterday and I too, let a self-direction habit creep into the session.

I snapped once on site with a client and he stopped the recording to ask what the dickens I was doing.

After I'd explained myself (and apologized) he asked me to keep snapping for the rest of the scripts!

I used the Matto version until I figured out the producer was recording my thoughts.

Now I just shut up for a few seconds and begin again. It keeps the blackmail fees down.
