"Your call cannot be completed because you are trying to reach a sky pyuser" and "you're listening to K U wee R" are a couple of examples I recently heard, whereby the voice talker mashes words together.
I know overenunciating is a bane in our business, but I'm wondering if my ears are also a bit sensitive to these malpronunciations (I made up that word).
Merely a discussion point or opportunity for you to share what you hear, that sounds odd to your ear. It snot keeping me up at night.

Recently I sent a direction to a VO for a science script and it contained the word "mu" which I told him was mee-you spoken quickly. He came back with "mee YOU" as two words. Much merriment ensued, but now when I see the word "mu" I hear "Mee YOU"...

Was he getting into character as a snobby and disgusted cat?

This morning, the tv was on in the background and I heard, "drive a twitta" and "the deals on twittas have never been better..." It really and truly sounded like "twitta". I looked up and it was what appeared to be a national Toyota spot.

One of the things that tended to keep people from being profitable voice talent 10 or 15 years ago was the need to walk the line, being able to enunciate and communicate. Today it's either "mush mouth" or people pronouncing words like "IMP-PORT-TENT".

i'm sure i've told this story before:

one radio station where i worked had control rooms with an exceptional view of the mountain range to the west of salt lake city. an a.e. walked in and declared "what a view!"

to which i replied "what OF me?" assuming, naturally, NOW what did i do?
