It's always nice to talk to an expert who REALLY understands our business. Yesterday I was lucky enough to have a SKRYPE chat with a man who is both a fully trained expert qualified marketing expert AND voiceoverist ..Wadda treat!
Lots of "Yo dood" and "awesum".
Now, you my pretties are but mere mortals in the heady world of marketing but as I was having an audience with a fully trained expert qualified marketing expert I could talk real Turkey as opposed to 80% Tofu Turkey.
How often when asked a straight question does a fully trained expert qualified marketing expert respond PuhwuhWHA before ducking and changing the subject and adding a few " yo dood" and "awesum"?
17... Exactly 17 times.
Did he NOT know the answers? Ridiculous suggestion, how VERY dare you! He DID know the answers but such was his level as a fully trained expert qualified marketing expert he merely moved on to the stuff he knew deep down that he knew that I really needed to know without me actually knowing.
I am so glad I wasn't paying this man as the subliminal knowledge I now don't know that I know thanks to this fully trained expert qualified marketing expert would be beyond my means. |

We got a call from an "expert" who was marketing a political candidate. I usually hang up on these people, since they're usually robo-calls. But this one was a real live person. So, I decided to play with them a bit.
EXPERT: We are getting the world out that XXXX is running for XXXX office and that he has full experience.
ME: What's his background?
EXPERT: He once ran a business and learned through the school of hard knocks what it's like to run a business.
ME: Was it a successful business?
EXPERT: He learned a lot from it and now he's going to take that knowledge to {governing body he's running for{ on your behalf, if you would give him your vote.
ME: So, he went out of business and now he's running for office because he can't do anything else?
EXPERT: Thank you for your time. <click> _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

OK... I'll do it... There's another board?
In my experience (both VO and the corporate world), the first, and usually only, thing that these marketeers learn to market is themselves. With a gullible target, that pretty much all you need.
It's a shame because these guys taint the whole marketing industry.
Philip, you just got moved to his, "Don't bother... not a sucker" column. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

The good news is that by giving him your email address you've now been entered for a chance to win an Apple.
A Granny Smith if I'm not mistaken.
And some of these marketing expert marketing experts have some good advice. My recent $200 consultation yielded the sage wisdom "The further you are in advance of your own positions, the more likely your artillery will shoot short." Well actually that was in my fortune cookie. But I would never have received that fortune cookie if the marketing expert marketing expert didn't force me to buy him lunch.
And the Mu Shu Pork was good too.
I'm sorry, what was the question again? _________________ j.s. gilbert
