I just narrated the most fascinating piece on income distribution, and how the past 30 years or so have seen disproportionate allocation of corporate salaries to the C-suite, while the worker-bees are getting poorer. Sad stuff, and should be criminal. |

This is one of my favorite parts of the job, particularly long-form. All the eclectic, funky knowledge you pick up.
And you never know when it will come in handy! Like that time I narrated for a weight-loss company... _________________ Kendra Hoffman

I'm just starting a book on Deep Brain Stimulation, where electrodes are placed, um, deep in the brain, and wired to a battery pack that is kind of like a pacemaker, to control symptoms of Parkinson's among other things.
Can't wait to try it! _________________ Dangerous.

One of the most important things I've learned from corporate narration is that I do not ever wish to be a pharmaceutical sales person. Wow. What a hard way to make a living. (I've done a ton of training narrations for the industry.) _________________ Moe Egan

I love being forced to learn interesting things! I just finished an audiobook on social media marketing. Learned a ton in there...also learned that I don't have enough time to do everything I want to do. |

Last week I did a narration on Australian and New Zealand wines. Right up my alley and I learned a heap of interesting new information. _________________ www.mattcowlrick.com |

In case this voiceover thing doesn't work out, I'm learning what it takes to successfully operate the parts department of a Mercedes truck dealership. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

And I'm learning again this week why I'm totally not cut out to be a mechanical engineer. _________________ Bob Ransom

How is voice overing like brain surgery?
Today I learned that different bundles of neurons in our brains actually make SOUNDS that can be RECORDED and that some especially smarty pants brain surgeons figured out that they could locate the right part of the brain to operate on by LISTENING to the different bundles of neurons as they passed an electrode through each neuronal neighborhood. _________________ Dangerous.

Incredible! Now I just need to find a way to record my thoughts, because I'm a much better voice actor in my head! |

I learned yesterday that apparently sexually harassing subordinates is a bad thing.
People need training to know this stuff? _________________ Graeme Spicer

Hmmm ... I guess maybe sexual harassment training is a necessary thing, after all ... _________________ Graeme Spicer

CC Heim, outside of the performing, this is easily the next best thing about this business.
I have been an avid reader all my life and becoming a voice acting professional for corporate, industrial, and eLearning situations, you pick up so much knowledge of things you may have never been prompted to learn on your own.
As of April, if I ever wanted to open up a therapist location an offer Su Jok as a treatment, in my opinion, I'm pretty much qualified. _________________ Freedom is not knowing your limits but realizing that you have none. |
