Howdy Gang
It seems everything is coming up roses today, I spoke with a fellow who makes long form documentaries on Steam train engines today who wants me to narrate his video for him, I might get some audio production work out of it too, any thoughts on what to charge him? |

Sure... $150,000! (rim shot)
Are you asking about a charge for the production only? If so, what is required of you (add/mix bg music, bust it into 130 seperate files, etc). I think most charges are by the hour for "studio time" so you can arrive at a rate based upon estimated time to get a finished project into their hands. I've seen rates vary widely for production time ($45 to $200 per hour) so just decide what you can live with and go for it.

By the way, FWIW, I get a little anal when it comes to doing production work and tend to put a lot more time into it than is really required...so its not unusual for me to bill the client three hours for what took me six to do just because I wanted to please myself with minor tweaks. _________________ .
