Not a Pro or Anti Windows statement, just a statement of whether one can use Windows 8 for voice overs with a desktop. The answer is: Yes You Can. I just got Windows 8 Pro as an upgrade from my horrible & clunky Vista 64. All I had to do is re-install Adobe Audition and the Driver for my M Audio Fast Track Ultra (which is made for XP/Vista/Windows 7). No problems whatsoever, and W8 is terrific compared to Vista or XP. Now, there are the obvious considerations that it won't work with things like Source Connect...but that didn't work with Vista really in the first place. And yes, W8 works fine without a touch screen. The only glitches are this: 1.) You need to tweak the default that the screen shuts down in 15 minutes and 2.) Doing ALT+F4 is really the simplest way to shutdown/restart the computer. Otherwise, I can recommend using this for your studio if you happen to already have a PC. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover
