I scheduled a vacation, and wouldn't ya know, that's when people wanna hire me. Anyway, I had a couple clients want work done this week, and all I had was my Apogee Mic and iPad 2. One client said they'd wait (probably the better choice), but the other client said he needed it yesterday, and wanted to give the mobile rig a go. So, I made a makeshift booth in a quiet basement at the house I was at (luckily the lady ofthe house was a quilter), and recorded the audio.
Client thought the audio was great, and the check's in the mail. That pays for the Mic! I was skeptical about getting anything worth using, but if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me. (And I have done work in my studio for him before)
Once I get back to a computer, I'll listen to the audio with a critical ear. |

The audio actually sounded decent, not the kind of audio I'd be satisfied with delivering on a regular basis, but the noise floor was aroud -55ish in the basement I recorded in. Tone was definitely workable. With a portabooth and twisted wave, it is definitely a viable option. I would definitely prefer using a netbook and AA though. I'll probably move in that direction for my mobile rig. |

How ,uch was the Apogee and connectors for the iPad? I live with my iPad 2 and a viable mobile setup would be awesome. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

$200 for the Apogee MiC, and it came with all the necessary connectors to connect to the iPad or via USB to any computer. It's a great little mic. |

Welp, brand new to this site, and first post here....but I was out of town for Thanksgiving, and did 2 auditions and about 4 gigs using my Apogee Mic into iPad, and it was great. Built a little pillow fort in my hotel (I am a pillow architect by this point), and it was great. The mic doesn't carry the low-end too superbly, but all of my reads were higher-pitched conversational style and didn't need much low-end anyway, and the little sucker nailed it. So easy, and the clarity is absurd. |
