Howdy kids! I'm wondering if there is a way to set a custom filter to remove all frequencies below 130 hz in Adobe Audition?

Currently when I need to do this, I go into spectral view, use the marquee tool to select the content below 131 and hit DELETE.

This is a bit cumbersome (especially when I need to apply to hundreds of files), and I wondered if there was a way to set a custom filter that will do this for me?

Anyone???

Yep, if you use the multiband EQ (10, 20, or 30-band, not parametric) and just drop those frequencies all the way. Then saw it as a favorite and throw it in your processing stack. Which version are you using?

I'm on AA 3.0. may I call you to walk me through this? I see the "multiband compressor" in the presets, but not sure how to use it.

Yes hes's right CC....that's how you do it and save to favorites. It would help amazingly if everyone using from AA 1.5 on up would go to Effects and save several things in Favorites. Such as a mild compression, Amplitude/Normalize about a 1.5 setting so you can take out almost all of the breath but not all, maybe a 95% Normalize for those too low points. And a couple of others that you use a lot. And if you don't....should. Take a couple of hours, find and save these to your favorites. You will save yourself untold time.

But CC....are you sure you want everything out below 130? That sounds like too much to me and may have some good stuff in there at least above 100.

What say you Tech experts?

Thanks for piping in! Yes, I do have a bunch of favorites saved and it's incredibly time-saving!

With respect to removing below 130 hz, I've tried doing just 100 and it doesn't adequately address the low booms. I know the *real* answer is to better treat my recording space, but we are getting ready to sell our house and build new, so I'm not too keen on adding a bunch more stuff to my space. I need to kind of strip it all out when we have showings. However, my NEW studio is gonna kick some serious boooo-tayyyyy!
