I deal with lawyers on a daily basis, those who ,in a brochure aimed at Joan Q. Public, define Plaintiff as complainant. Do they know what a comma or period is for?
A number of years ago, my first paying VO gig was an instructional tape for Cyber****s (purveyors of bodybuidling supplements). In the studio I was reading the script and it mentioned something along the lines of "... trading that Budweiser for a Perrier..," and other trademarked names.
This had purportedly gone thru their lawyers (yeah them again) I pointed that and a couple other things out to the producer, who got on the phone, the session was done pretty much as is. i got a call later that week to come back in and recut some of it. Beer replaced Budweiser and Spring water replaced Perrier... i shoulda gone to law school...
Fortunately, in my position here I get to clean up the scripts I produce. It's still a daily battle. |

Frank, I just have to ask if you've had any dealings with Colonel Muster (in the kitchen with a candlestick)--ba da boom. _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!
