Is the original MBox good for anything other than a bookend? I have one here but there are no drivers for it anymore. Anyone know if it can be used somehow? |

You can use it with an older machine running an older operating system..
the last version of PT LE that works with the Mbox is 8.0.1.. Won't work with Snow Leopard either...
I'll bet if you coupled that original Mbox with an older Power Mac or Powerbook and ran PT 7 it would be a decent backup rig |

They also make great paperweights.... and DIY home weather stations.... if it's wet, it's raining, etc.....
In their day, they were known for their "legendary" Focusrite preamps, and, compared to many other options, they did sound pretty good.... for their day.
As the captain said, you could run it on an older OS on an older machine....
But why? _________________ Don Brookshire

I just hate to see a piece of gear collecting dust. Maybe I should take it apart and see what the insides look like... |

Ooooo, Anthony, if you do take it apart, let me know what you find. I have an old one on the shelves as well just taking up valuable shoe space. _________________ Pam Tierney
