fire in downtown carterville tonight. ben is in a photo journalism class so we ran down there. nobody hurt as far ar as i know. but some good pics. ben took the pics - i ran spotter.

the images are nice - but they could have been better - he was shooting at 1600 iso - should have been lower - but it was his 1st fire and he wasn't afraid to get to where he needed to be. as a matter of fact i had to pull him back by the scruff of the neck a few times. we had a nice critique session when we got back home.

I looked at the photos taken by Kendall Downing. Ben's shots were tighter and much more dramatic. It takes a good eye and composition skills to capture the "now" moment.
