Hi everyone, I have a DJ asking me about pricing for drops, sweepers and intros for Radio. Any ideas on pricing this for each of those catagories, it would be a great help to me. I would like to get back to him by tommarow. |

I believe the going rate for such things is a per page rate somewhere between $50 and $100 per page (double spaced with decent margins) versus some kind of minimum fee for the whole project. Take market size into consideration. Small market jocks and stations usually have almost zero budget for such things.
If he/she has a bigger need you could also offer to go on a retainer, a monthly fee to record whatever they need (within reason). I believe I've seen situations posted here such as: they get up to a 15 minute session every week from you for $200 a month (or more if possible).

Once again, Bruce makes me happy. Sometimes you have to listen to the "Bruce." _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

The only thing I'd add to what Bruce sez is 12 pt. type size. And yes, retainers are wonderful! _________________ Bobbin Beam

Retainers are best - as you are locked out of that market in most cases, if not all...this is a key point. In the retainer, my structure is set for max of 1 page per week and a max of 15 liners per page and 2 promos per month max. Prices vary _________________ Brian Haymond
