Well he kind of lost me when he started sucking the water back up the pressurized hose with sound waves (by reversing the video).
I tend to think it's largely a hoax, but there were reports that day of elephants at the nearby zoo trumpeting, "turn down the stereo you punk kids!!!".

That is... the coolest thing... I have ever seen.
Bruce, I don't think it was reversed. I think it's like when you see car wheels appearing to go backwards on the road at certain speeds. It only appeared to be going backwards. _________________ Scott R. Pollak

It's all in the frame rate of the camera and the frequency coming out of the speaker. 24fps on the camera, 24hz coming from the speaker. The water "reversing" happens when the frequency is changed to 23hz.
