Wondering if when installed, the sound chip built into the mother board is still available?
I have an M-Audio 2496 that does not get along with my Avid express Pro 4.6, but Avid does get along with the onboard sound (for monitoring, in case I cannot monitor Avid thru the firebox)
I have a line on a slightly used firebox at what I think is a pretty good price.
Thanks |

I can definitely recommend the Firebox. Been using one for over a year now with no problems. It's my main audio interface in my studio as well as on my laptop when I travel for recording. Of course I use the line in and bypass the preamps in my studio but use the preamps when I'm traveling. Play's nice with everything else. For instance on my Laptop I use it to record into the laptop and use my laptop speakers to listen back. Never had any conflicts or problems with it. Looking at grabbing a second one for my mobile setup so I don't have to keep unhooking the studio Firebox. |

Thanks Russ,
had something weird happen tonight (will describe in the other thread) so I am on hold with this "purchase" for the moment. |
