Hey Everyone,
Sad day today....got a call from someone I know that told me their friend died in a motorcycle accident. I knew this person indirectly and it was just really horrible news to hear. My brother who lives on California may fly back home to do a video montage of this person's life with pictures and video for the funeral coming up. Please pray, if you are the praying kind, for their family.
But the reason for this post is just a simple reminder. One we can not have too many of in our days on this earth. Show the people you love that you love them while you can. Take time to make a difference in someone's life while you can. And as the great Jimmy V. said some three months before he passed of cancer:
"I just got one last thing, I urge all of you, all of you, to enjoy your life, the precious moments you have. To spend each day with some laughter and some thought, to get you're emotions going. To be enthusiastic every day and [as] Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Nothing great could be accomplished without enthusiasm" -- to keep your dreams alive in spite of problems whatever you have. The ability to be able to work hard for your dreams to come true, to become a reality."
Here is the link to one of the greatest speeches by Jimmy three months before he died. It is tremendous and worth watching or reading:
Jimmy V's ESPN Speech
I hope this serves to everyone as a reminder. Life is fragile and short. Take the time and effort to make your life something special for you and the people around you.
Thanks for reading. _________________ Ben

A loss like that is hard to comprehend unless you've experienced it, Tom.
Be sympathetic and tender. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Ben,
Your post reminds me of words spoken by my wife to a group of co-workers a few months before she succumbed to cancer.
"I'm probably going to die sooner than I thought I would. But, it might not be from cancer. I could walk out of this building this morning and get run over by a bus."
Life is indeed precious. Cherish the time you have. Ben, my prayers are with you and those with you who have suffered this loss. Thank you for sharing. _________________ Be well,

Absolutely. It's hard enough when you're the father, but it's even worse for the mother. We've gone through that as well.
Ben, sorry for your friend's loss. Words fail me at the moment, but you're absolutely right about living life to the fullest extent. Every time I talk to my grandfather on the phone, he'll usually say something like "go make a memory" at goodbye time.

Thanks for sharing this, Ben. I'm old enough to have lost many friends and family members, and those are spaces left that can never truly be filled.
With that in mind, thanks to all here for being good to each other. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

Ben,
My prayers to you and your friend, and your friend's family.
I appreciate your post.
"Busy-ness" is the spirit of the age, and it's not a GOOD spirit. We all get so focused on the minutae of our day-to-day, that we forget that what's URGENT isn't always what's IMPORTANT.

Yes Bailey. Did you know him too?
Thanks for the responses everyone. It is nice to have a group of people like this that we can share issues and help one another when needed.
Thanks for the prayers for their family too. You've helped more than you'll ever know. _________________ Ben

I didn't know Mark Tracey personally, but he was a lifelong friend of Jeff Detrow.
Jeff Detrow is part of the San Diego morning radio team "Jeff and Jer". He shared about Mark's death on the show this past Thursday. Here is a link to what he said about Mark.
Mark Tracey
For some reason, when you mentioned about a motorcycle accident, and you being in Ohio, it sounded too much to be a coincidence. _________________ "Bailey"
