Funny - I just noticed that one today too. Trying to double-check how to pronounce "piezo." _________________ Kendra Hoffman

Most sources say "pee-A-zo". Having Italian heritage & some knowledge of the language, I naturally have been pronouncing it "pee-ET-so" all these years. Silly me! _________________ John LaPiana

Yeah - all us trolls in the Physics Dungeon at college said Pee-AY-zoh, but the dude on Merriam-Webster said Pie-EE-zoh.
The client agreed with me. Go Physics Trolls! _________________ Kendra Hoffman

Wouldn't "pee-ET-so" require 2 "Z"s? _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Really depends on the context. Guitar players who use a piezo under saddle pickup in their acoustic say Pee-zo. Electrical engineers that I have spoke with say pi-EE-zo, and I've heard others say pee-AY-zo. I personally say the latter...but who the heck am I? |

Geeks who light things remotely say Peezo. I have a boom mic that works at a safe distance. _________________ Don Brookshire
