I'm looking for a young (yet experienced) male voice talent to narrate videos encouraging high schoolers to look into the aviation field, as in piloting and maintenance. Needs to sound relatable to that age group. Email me with a link to your website.
Many thanks,

Wow. 60 hits and only one response so far. Luckily I know of two others from the board and a third so we can give the client some choice.
In case I didn't word it well enough the talent doesn't need to be a teen but have a voice teens can relate to.
When it hit 50 views with no response last night I went cruising through Voices.com to see what I could see. I knew that if I selected "young" sounding I'd get almost everybody, so I chose "teen". Hah! You wouldn't believe how many 50+ year old voice actors think they can do teenage voices.
I also couldn't believe how badly some people presented themselves in what shows up in the photos and two line bios they take off the top of your full bio. If you're with a P2P you may want to try searching for talents there and see how your presentation stacks up. When looking through 377 talents in a category, buyers sometimes make some pretty quick judgement calls based on very little info.
The killer line, this or a variation of it: "I'm really new at this, but....". A listen to their demos proved it, too.

I have myself listed as "Senior Male," "Middle Age Male," and "Young Adult Male" just because you never know what someone else's idea of "young" might be. I have been hired for several projects that called for a Young Adult Male, but when they describe the requirements in as much detail as you did, and it's clear they are looking for someone who sounds Gen X or younger, I move on.
And I'm one of the 60 who looked at your post, knowing I was not going to contact you, just because I hang on your every word. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Some days I feel young....then there are those other days. Mind and body don't always agree. Sigh. _________________ Gregory Best

I don't sound young, except maybe compared to Lee.
But I always check the "Young Adult" box on profiles and such because you never know if they want a voice that SOUNDS young or can RELATE to young people. I like to think I can do the latter. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

And some of us don't have a choice. We even sound young after a vat of whiskey. |
