|

This all started with me just wanting to take a vacation....
Hello helpful helpers with such huge brains! I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of my recently purchased Apogee Mic, so that I can be a "never miss an audition" kind of guy.
Meanwhile I heard rumor that there was a Garageband A for iPhone that would certainly enable me to record, edit and send files to my eagerly waiting agent. However...despite countless hours searching through YouTube tutorials regarding Garageband, none addresses this dilemma:
To edit a file I dutifully tap on the wav and a menu pops up. "Cut/Copy/Paste/Delete/Loop/Split
I tap on "Split" and the icon for a pair of scissors appears. Then, nothing. I tap, slide, curse...but no split.
I can RESIZE the file...no problem. For for tightening a gap I'd just like to know how to chop the file in two. Any suggestions?
OR...is there a better A for recording on iPhone you might suggest?
Thank you!

In GarageBand, once you bring up the "split" and see the little scissor icon, you hold down on the scissors and drag down... that separates the file.
Twisted Wave is probably all you need in terms of a mobile recording a ...

One thing that GarageBand DOES have that seems useful is a automatic level (comp/limiter/normalize?) and noise gate on the input... it actually works pretty well... _________________ Lee Kanne

THANK YOU Lee and George!!!
I got it to work! Massive thanks. And George I loved your appearance with Chuck and Stacey on VOBuzz Weekly! As a matter of fact I think you might have mentioned the Apogee mic and Twisted Wave. I think that might be the better way to go as it looks like it can convert files to mp3, as opposed to the Garageband a that creates an mp4 something or other.
When I get big and rich I want you to design my home studio!
You gents rock, I totally appreciate your jumping in to help me out. _________________ Scott Burns
