Do you pronounce Mary, marry, and merry differently? What do you call a sub sandwich, or a can of soda? Someone has mapped our regional terms and pronunciations for common items. Interesting:

I was searching the web the other day for some help on how to distance myself from my normal speech patterns and hopefully to find suggestions on "neutral" speech patterns.

I found a quiz. Answer about 13 questions and the test will tell you where you are from. Well... where your speech pattern originates.

So here I am looking for ways to tone down "sunbelt", Southerness, the sound of the Southwest.

The speech test announced I was from Philadelphia.

Ah yes. What a great way to waste time.

Now, if you will excuse me, I shall go into the studio and practice and practice... until you will declare that I am from Chicago!
