Moi! Greetings again from Finland.
Have set up my audio chain but not 100% satisfied with it. Sometimes my mac mini crashes and though I cannot confirm it, I suspect it could have something to do with the firewire connection from my audio interface.
Thinking about this as a possible solution. Running cables from the S/PDIF connections to a converter box - then from the box to the mac mini via tosilink.
In theory this should allow me to get around using the firewire.
Anyone doing anything like this?
Here is a link for the converter box...

Any thoughts?

Should work great, but could be annoying with Pro Tools using their "Pro Tools Aggregate Audio device". I've done this for a couple clients over the years. One uses a Apogee Rosetta 200 toslink into her iMac running TwistedWave. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Thx for the information George. I think I will give it a try and hear how it works.
All the best,
