I've seen two examples of movies trailers done by women and they were both, at best, underwhelming.

Opportunities to use girl voices for movies trailers abound and we need to hear more of them, many more!

Who do I know who could do it? No, I'm NOT being polite ...They could really do it!

Melissa Exelberth
Cris Dukehart

Interesting to note that after a 10 minute pause the above list, is my entire list. Who MAY be able to do it? Not sure but it would be easy to tell.

"Philip, I need a girl for a movie trailer. If it don't work out it's your butt on the line. Who should I call?" .....Friendship ..PAH! Dis is bidnizz and that's why my casting office has a choice of ...2

"Wow, suggesting me to a client for work. You're very good to me " said a VO friend.

"I didn't do it for YOUR benefit I did it for theirs"

Now, back to the plot ..Movie Trailers. Rid us of the guys who sound like eejits and bring on the girls, the variety and ...the creativity!

I believe we've discussed this here not too long ago, but the current trailer trend seems to be using no voices from any of the more popular sexes. You get two minutes of snappy scenes only, and if the movie is really light weight, once you've seen the trailer you've pretty much seen the entire movie so you can skip paying to see it. That's a nice service.

Thank you Philip. And yes, I wish they would bring on the girls. I would so love to break into trailers but at this point - with resistance to females (and most males for that matter) so high - I don't even have a trailer demo.

Not having a trailer demo really does set you apart and not wishing to do anything under 750 pages in length sets Cris apart. What puts you both head and shoulders above the majority of the west coast wannabee movie trailer FVOs is ........

Best not to say but ....

Did anyone else notice there was no reporter VO in that story? (Apart from a brief off-camera response to an interview comment, at the very end.)

With Speilberg and Lucas' recent comments on the film industry about it being doomed and overtaken by internet television, I think the contemporary trailer is also doomed...which is perfectly fine by me. I can't stand the macho big male voice, or even promo voices on TV. It's all so strained and smarmy.
