I wanted to upgrade to 10.8 a while back to add a couple features that I think would be useful, however, I was reluctant at first...I'm not the early adopter type.
I know a few of you did make the switch, and I was curious about your experience. Any hardware issues? Software oddities (especially if you use AA CS6)? I'd love to hear your thoughts. |

I got 10.8 with a Mini I bought earlier this year and I will say I've had very few Permissions to repair versus previous editions and no burps or glitches. Some of the new bells and whistles are interesting but I find I don't need or use most of them.
I don't use Adobe but everything including my MOTU Audio Desk software has been running fine.

I have 10.8 with my Mac Mini too. No issues there that I can tell with just the Mac. I also have AA CS6 and have had a few issues with it crashing and some pops and clicks. Could be my converter but overall I am not impressed with CS6. |

My issues I think started with Lion and just carried over to ML, but as a whole ML 10.8.4 on my Mini i7 quad core has worked ok.
PT 10 Express, AACS6 and AACC, TwistedWave, Chrome, Evernote, Source Connect, Skype, VMWare running fine.
My Avid Mbox Mini and my other USB audio device need to be re-plugged from time to time to reset them, and they don't like switching user accounts at all so I shut down my machine more often than I would have in the past.
Clients with Mackie Onyx Firewire interfaces I think have far more issues than in the past. I don't know if that's the Mac itself or the OS to blame. I just replaced an older Mac Mini for a client with the latest and greatest Mini, and now he has glitches with his Onyx 820i requiring to power-cycle the Mackie to clear them up. In the past he'd leave his studio up days on end without issues, but now I tell him to shut it all down at night and start fresh each day.
Another client ditched his Onyx after just too many recording issues wasting him time. Nothing worse than recording an audiobook for an hour only to hear static/clicking throughout. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I am about ready to replace my Onyx as my interface and just keep it for the mixer and as a backup interface if needed. I think I am also done with Firewire at least for now. |

This is all great to know. I would really use iMessage a lot, and am currently just using my iPad, but I think I'll take the $30 plunge and make the switch. |
