I'm on a Mac with the latest operating system and I usually use Firefox for my browsing and such. I have a growing problem of clicking on links to a F and getting a new blank screen but no download of the F. It used to be occasionally and now it's almost always.
My fix is to copy the link, open Safari, and download it there... a small pain but a pain nonetheless. I have a Firefox plug-in called " F Downloader" but doesn't do squat.
Any thoughts? Is there a setting I'm missing? I disabled Java a while back but I can't imagine that's related.
Many thanks,

that's the problem with firefox, they update daily (is seems) so one day & plugin works - the next it doesn't --- my suggestion would be to switch to chrome.

There's no need to jump ship with what you are comfortable with. I run both Firefox and Safari, and if one is a bit truculent, then I just use the other one. I've occasionally used Chrome as well when testing a website... but to be honest, I find it the most idiosyncratic and cumbersome (OK, not as bad as IE). My dislike of it could well be that I just don't need to use it and can't be bothered to change what isn't broken in my workflow... or it could be that it always wants me to sign in to Google Crapİ and calls me a dullard if I don't want to "enhance my experience".
I also don't like the way that they've piggy-backed Chrome onto other software updates, and if you're not paying attention, it's installed as your default browser unless you deselect the option. I hate that sneaky crap. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

Go to tools, options, applications.
Check to see if Adobe is the program set to handle it. |

Call the NSA and ask them to read your PDFs to you. They have all of yours (and everybody else's) on file. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Phew, I was starting to break out into sweats because there was no NSA joke. Thanks, Lee! I drink the Chrome kool-aide and overall am happy. There are resource leaks that start sucking CPU cycles, I just quit and restart the browser or use OneTab to clear the tabs and put them back again.
Otherwise, I'd go Safari which uses a LOT less memory on Mac than Chrome. I hate the way the Flash plugin in Firefox will suck up all 16GB of RAM then crash almost everytime I load it. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
