I got to about 30 secs.

I have decided that Don spends far too much time in the internet.
We may need an intervention.

I made it to 00 seconds. When I saw it posted on Facebook I just knew had to be creepy and I had no interest in confirming my suspicions.

Scoff all you like, but Jon's nearing 1 MILLION views on Youtube, and will, without
a doubt, get some work, and a much higher profile in the VO world thanks to this video.

Whether it was planned as one or not (and I'm guessing that it wasn't) what a freakin'
fabulous marketing tool this has turned out to be for him.

He's scheduled to be on Good Morning America tomorrow morning...you can't buy that kind of PR.

Doug's right (damn, why is he always right!)

What's now scaring me is the thought that a lot of VOs (real or otherwise) will see this as a way to financial success, and we'll be inundated with a whole bunch of crap that they hope will go viral... but which will ultimately be overwhelmingly obnoxious and only serve to cheapen the business.

Jon's done something different so the followers will simply be that, followers.

In all things regarding VO marketing, no one cares what I think as I have no money for them. Cheque Book - Target acquired.

I can't remember if there was an increase in VO interest when Ted Williams stepped into the limelight. He peaked and appears to have settled into his own comfort zone.

Jon appears to have developed a respectable pedigree over several years, and his career networking skills seem to be working.

Speaking of Teddy Voiceover Game, when he virally burst onto the scene, the surge in interest in VO may very well have been temporary but there was also no shortage of people and institutions looking to attach themselves to his coattails and ride his 15 minutes of fame. One of those, I thought at the time, was Kraft, the makers of a line of products intended to be mistaken for macaroni & cheese. To their credit, however, they continue to use Mr. Williams as the voiceoverist on the tags of all their TV commercials, to this very day, long after the name "Ted Williams" has returned to evoking #9 for the Boston Red Sox in the majority of the public consciousness.
