Embracing and learning from my failure has been something that I think has helped me to not get depressed in this business. One thing that I have watched at least once a quarter is this ad. For me, it captures the "oh ya....I just have to keep going on," concept and helps me remember that I WILL be successful if I just keep at it.

“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”
Thomas A. Edison

Thomas Edison was interviewed by a young reporter who boldly asked Mr. Edison if he felt like a failure and if he thought he should just give up by now. Perplexed, Edison replied, "Young man, why would I feel like a failure? And why would I ever give up? I now know definitively over 9,000 ways that an electric light bulb will not work. Success is almost in my grasp." And shortly after that, and over 10,000 attempts, Edison invented the light bulb.

(Oh, and let's not forget that guy who submitted over 1200 auditions on V123 before finally landing his first gig!) Wink

A great lesson shared by Jason, and a further excellent example by Scott.

Thanks!
